“We’ll be forever grateful to Liliana”

“When Sebastian and I decided, as new permanent residents of Mexico, to sell our home in
Santa Fe, New Mexico and make Pátzcuaro our new home, we faced the challenge of finding an
experienced local real estate firm to help us achieve our goals.

We knew from our preparatory reading about Mexican property law, and our own internet
searches that this choice of realtors would be extremely important. Thankfully, through
consistent recommendations from members of the Michoacán expat community, we found our
way to the firm of Mexatua Bienes Raices, and its bilingual founder, Liliana Elena Gonzalez
Castro, who is both a licensed real estate attorney and broker.

We spent several days viewing properties with Liliana, which taught us a lot about what we
actually needed versus what we had initially imagined we wanted. Liliana was very gracious as
she patiently watched us evolve as buyers. Then we asked Liliana to show us a property we’d
seen and read about on the Mexatua website. As soon as we’d toured the property, we knew
that we’d found our new home. Liliana and the sellers (who were also her clients) disclosed
from the beginning that there were significant title issues that would have to be resolved
before the purchase could proceed.

Title issues are common in Mexico, and some folks advised us to proceed with our purchase
and resolve the issues later. Liliana steadfastly refused to take that path, insisting that the title
issues be fully resolved before the sale proceeded to closing. We’ll be forever grateful to Liliana
and Mexatua for that resolve.

It took more time than we’d hoped, but today we are enjoying the lovely, hand-crafted adobe
home of our dreams, with the peace of mind that comes from Liliana’s singular dedication to
her clients and to her overarching dedication to professionalizing Mexican real estate practices.

We recommend Liliana’s services without reservation and with sincere respect and
appreciation.”
