XXXIX Guitar Festival in Paracho 2014

The XXXIX Guitar Festival will be held in Paracho, August 3rd through 8th, 2014. Among other activities, this year´s festival will hold the XVII National Contest of Classical Guitar Performers (children, youth and adult categories).

There will be master classes by Pablo Garibay from Mexico; Simone Iannarelli from Italy; Luis Quintero from Venezuela; Consuelo Bolio from Mexico; Berta Rojas from Paraguay and Duo Ditirambo from Mexico.

The Festival will have artist from Italy, Venezuela, Paraguay and Mexico.

Paracho de Verduzco in Michoacan, is a small town located about half an hour north of Uruapan on Highway 37. It has a population of about 15965 (according to the GeoNames geographical database). Paracho is well-known throughout both Mexico and elsewhere in the world as hub lutherie. This is because they are reputed to make the best sounding guitars and vihuelas in all of Mexico since the 19th century.

    I was looking for info on this year(2015) guitar festival. we would like to go to Paracho and listen to classical guitar music . Do you know how to find out when and where the music will happen?? We would be driving over from Patzcuaro and our friends in Ajijic want to meet us there.
