The 26th edition of the Festival de Música de Morelia Miguel Bernal Jimenez will take place in the colonial city of Morelia, November 14th through 30th, 2014. The Festival´s performances will be held at Morelos Teather, the Cathedral and other churches, the Government´s Palace, Justice Building, Las Rosas Conservatory, Palacio Clavijero, Ocampo Teather, Ruben Romero Teather and other buildings and squares in downtown Morelia.

The opening concert will be held in the Morelos Theatre on Friday November 14th at 8:30 pm, performed by the Xalapa Symphony Orchestra from Mexico. The closing concert will be performed by the National Symphony Orchestra on Saturday 29th at 8 pm at the same venue.

On Friday November 28th there will be an homage to Kaija Saariaho by International Contemporary Ensemble at Cultural Center Clavijero at 8.30 pm.

There will be performers from Switzerland, Russia, Poland, Argentina, Germany, England, Italy, USA, Finland and Mexico.

10 International Festivals in MoreliaAmong others, Niños Cantores de Morelia, Banda Ancha, Grupo Segrel, Pro Música Chorus, Rosas Chorus, Odhecaton Italian Group, Camerata Bern from Switzerland, Gärtnerplatz Orchestra from Munich, the Poland violinist Erika Dobosiewicz, the Russian pianist Alexandr Pashkov, the String Quartet from Moscú, the String Quartet Brodsky from UK, Luis Nacht Cuarteto & Quatrotango from Argentina, Jean-Baptiste Barrière from France and the American flutist Camilla Hoitenga.

Free events at  Calzada Fray Antonio de San Miguel (November 15th at 11 am) the Patamban Floral Rugs Exhibition, Guadalupe Pineda concert at Plaza Valladolid (November 15th at 7 pm); concerts for children at Cerrada San Agustin (November 19th to 23rd 5 to 7 pm); Miguel Bernal Jimenez´music in front of the Cathedral (November 21st at 10 pm); Alejandro Escuer concert at CMMAS auditorium (November 28th at 6 pm); Suma de Voluntades chorus at Altozano ViewPoint (November 30th at 12 noon) and gastronomic tianguis also at Altozano ViewPoint on Sunday.

There will be a series of master classes, courses, expos & exhibitions, children´s concert and international gastronomic exhibition.
