Semana Santa celebrations, events and exhibitions will take place in Patzcuaro from Friday 11 to Sunday 20, 2014.

There are lots of traditions in Patzcuaro every year in Semana Santa (Holy Week) such as the Altars of Dolores, the Via Crucis, the Procession of Silence (Procesión del Silencio), the tianguis and more.

There will be Altars of Dolores exhibitions from Friday 11 to Sunday 20 at Centro Cultural Antiguo Colegio Jesuita and  Museo de Artes e Industrias Populares, both located in the corner of Enseñanza and Alcantarilla streets in downtown Patzcuaro.

The Via Crucis representation will be Friday 11 at 4 pm at San Francisco church and Friday 18 in several churches of the city.

On Saturday 19, the Procession of Silence starts at 7 pm in San Francisco church and then goes in the main streets in downtown.

Patzcuaro holds a huge Tianguis (art crafts market) during semana santa y pascua (holy week & easter) in Plaza Vasco de Quiroga aka Plaza Grande in downtown. Visit the tianguis from Friday 11 to Sunday 20.
