Apolo´s Paint Collection will be exhibit from July 2nd through September 2nd 2010.

I have got Apolo´s biography along with the invitation, so I am reproduce it below:

Apolo was born in the City called Ciudad Hidalgo, which is in the State of Michoacan, located on the pacific coast of Mexico.

“Apolo was born in the City called Ciudad Hidalgo, which is in the State of Michoacan, located on the pacific coast of Mexico.
At early age, Apolo left home seeking adventure. After traveling throughout Mexico, he decided to backpack across the USA and Europe. He survived doing water-colors and painting Easter eggs (using acrylic). „It was more important to support my self than to create art.“ A gallery owner invited him to show his work in Neckargemünd in Germany. He recalls „ I was the only one looking at them, but I achieved my purpose which was to see Europe“.

Upon returning to Mexico Apolo lived on the southeast coast, one of the poorest areas in the country. There he worked as a journalist. “It was a world of poverty, ignorance, corruption, human rights violations and many other social problems. My vision of the real world became a sarcastic issue in my life, there were human beings who were treated worse than animals. This forced me to look deep inside myself, to see what was in there, to criticize and analyze the forgotten part of mankind…“his artistic perfection and nature, the basic instruments for humans to survive“. Apolo discovered that finding a positive outlet to express these feelings was hard and for many years he volunteered with Amnesty International (AI). Apolo is multi-lingual and his experiences with AI as well as his travels throughout Europe, Asia and America (the continent, because there is not country with that name), have enabled him to learn more about other cultures. Apolo never took painting seriously until 1991, when he began studying art after moving to Puebla, Mexico. It was here that he became actively involved in organizing shows because the „dinosaurs“ do nothing to support cultural development, not even the necessary improvement of its primary cultural needs. “Hundreds of artists from Mexico’s lower class will never have a chance to show their potential because in my country development is a privilege reserved for society’s elite”.

Everything was going well for Apolo until November 1993 when he suffered a terrible personal tragedy that turned his entire existence upside down. This life changing event forced him to make drastic changes. He disposed of his most cherished belongings and said farewell, again, to his past, leaving all that he loved behind in Mexico again. He traveled throughout the United States, then continued on to Europe. Later he returned to the U.S. and established in 1997, in Chicago, his first studio as a painter. He recalls “Painting was always there but the motivation to create was gone.” It was then, in 1996 when he began to paint again. It was hard to find a place or Gallery to show any art work, even the called Latino galleries refused his work but not the Polish Museum of America, (he remembers). His most recent work includes figurative ethnic and modern contemporary art. “For me (he adds), painting has become a passion that needs to be freed every day… creating, searching, developing, finding a message to be given is a goal of that solitude to create; using color is like caressing the skin of a woman, you need to find the most sensitive part of it”. Everything an artist does is from the deepest elements of his essence, his feelings, his ideas and gives a reason for viewers to search and to believe in their own essence, their roots, their identity and even their dreams and nightmares”. It is “A light in the darkness”, because it is the most profound expression, -reflection-, of yourself, forcing you to take a serious look at “the inner you”. The seventh of eleven children, Apolo is the only one to ever live outside of Mexico. His philosophy is that “A person’s success and accomplishments cannot be measured by material possessions, rather by their ability to learn to live with an understanding of others and a respect for nature. This is the essence of life, a goal and a responsibility.”

Apolo has shown and sold his paintings directly to private art collectors in Mexico, Australia, the United States and European countries.
He lives and works in Puerto de Buenavista, Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico.”

I have got a call 2 weeks ago from a client who wanted to buy a used car in Morelia.

My client John Doe, wanted to buy a car from a car dealer Juan Fernández who´s business name is CarCars. BTW all names have been changed to protect their privacy, or how we say in México “se dice el pecado pero no el pecador” (we tell the sin but never the sinner).

Mr. Doe loved the car, he drove it around, took it to the mechanic to verify its condition and even check it out at the vehicle police station to make sure it was not a stolen car.

After all this diligent actions, he called me to check out legal papers as the car title, sales-agreement, etc. So we meet at the CarCars office and this is what I found out:

1.- In the sales-agreement the seller was CarCars, but it does not have enough rights to sell that car or anything else because it is only a “comercial name” not a legal corporation. There was no “one person doing business as”.

When I pointed that out, Juan Fernández told me “ok, I will be the seller” which might be OK, but then the second problem came up:

2.- The Car Title was on the name of a third person (I will call him Pedro Sánchez). I asked Where is Pedro Sánchez?

Juan Fernández explained me that he bought the car from Pedro in México City. Juan paid to Pedro, got the title and brought the car to Morelia 3 or 4 months ago and never saw Pedro again. Then I said OK, where is your sales-agreement with Pedro along with his Id? and the third problem came up:

3.- There was no paperwork about that transaction, except for the Car title with some illegible signature on the back (of course they swore to me it was Pedro´s signature). However, there was no proper id (neither any other document) to prove that was Pedro´signature.

They told Mr Doe that they had good contacts in Mexico City and they will find Pedro Sánchez to get the proper paperwork and they would call him to continue with that transaction.

Well they did not call Mr. Doe and he had to forget that car and move on.

Do you have a story to share?

In the process of selling, we get thousands of questions about the weather in certain area. I always ask the owners to reply to that question. So I am sharing with you the answer by Espiritu Libre Cabin´s owner to: How´s the weather like in Tzintzuntzan?

The weather in general….in the winter, daytime temperatures are usually in the mid 70′s F. It is very rare for the temperature to be less than 70, and when it is, it is in the 60′s. This is only a few days out of the winter, mostly it is sunny and in the 70′s. At night, in winter, it is usually around 40, on the coldest mornings it may be 35, but that is also rare, it is almost alway around 40 and then warms usually to 75.

In the spring, the night and morning temperature is usually around 50 to 60 degress, and it will warm into the 80′s. It is rare that daytime temperatures would be higher than 85, it is never as hot as Morelia for example. More typical, like today, the temperature in the spring time is about 80 to 85.

In the summer, the nights and mornings are the same as spring, usually around 60 degress, and the daytime is usually a little cooler than spring, in the high 70′s, like 78 to 80 degrees F. It is rarely warmer than that because the rains cool things off. During the rainy season, from June to October, it will usually rain for about an hour or two and then is sunny the rest of the day. Humidity is a little higher in the summer because of the rains, but never hot and humid like the coast.

In the fall, the weather is very much like summer, but with less rain. Sometimes it is even a little warmer, but in late October and November the late night/early morning temperatures start dropping, first to 50, then by december to 40. When the rains stop, usually October, there is less humidity, but again, it is never too dry.

The humidity is is never too high and never too low. It is usually between 40 and 70 percent, sometimes a little more and sometimes a little less. It does not get hot and humid together like down on the coast. And it is never dry like San Miguel de Allende. When the humidity is too low, my nose gets very very dry, and when it is high, my hair gets very frizzy…this NEVER happens here in Tzintzuntzan. WE have a very moderate humidity, and it is one of the things I love about this area.

See properties for sale in Tzintzuntzan.
